All of the Chevy Trax models come with FWD as standard but even this base model has the option for all wheel drive.
The LS trim level also has an infotainment system that has a 7-inch touchscreen. But that isn’t the only tech that comes standard with this trim level. It also has a wifi hotspot and Chevy connect system. The Chevy Trax comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to add to the impressive tech package.

2021 Chevy Trax LT

SUVs that come with a third row and the cargo space expected in a sport utility vehicle are popular vehicles. It isn’t common to have both space for eight passengers and adequate cargo space. The 2021 Chevy Traverse is just that. It is a spacious 3-row SUV for families and they don’t have to leave anyone home to get the hiking gear in the back. While this can be said for the Chevy Suburban and Tahoe, they lack when it comes to how they handle on the road. The 2021 Traverse drives more like a car than a truck or bigger SUV. It can hug curves and stop quickly while also offering the space for the family and the carpool.
2021 Chevy Traverse Specs
If you follow the Chevy Traverse or the Chevy family of SUVs then you were probably disappointed to learn that the makeover that was planned for the Traverse for the 2021 model has been pushed to 2022. Due to COVID-19 the new features have not been added to the new model and will remain, largely the same as the 2020 Traverse.
This doesn’t mean that 2021 should be overlooked. The Traverse is an amazing family option when it comes to SUVs. It is also quick on the acceleration. Thanks to the V-6 engine with a 9-gear automatic transmission, you won’t even notice all of the gear shifts that this vehicle makes.
The cabin is quiet and not only keeps out road noise but also engine noise. The idle is so smooth that you may even think the Traverse isn’t even running. This is only complimented by fuel economy that is better than many of the similar SUVs in its class. The High Country Trim level gets 27 MPG on the hwy with the other trim levels not far behind.
The cargo is spacious with room for six carry-on suitcases when all of the seats are folded down. This is great for all of the sports gear and band instruments that quickly fill up your vehicle.
2021 Chevy Traverse Trims
There are five trim packages to choose from and some of the best features and options are reserved for the highest levels. The trim package that offers the best features for the family is the HIgh Country. This trim level has the highest gas mileage, better interior features for comfort and luxury, as well as an infotainment center that has Airplay and Android play options. There are also bright and easy to use features on the system
The Traverse also has USB ports spaced throughout the vehicle for the everyone’s device charging needs.
2021 Chevy Traverse Price
Each trim package has its own base price. The base model starts at $30,995 with the highest level of trim, the High Country, ringing in at $52,095. There are three trim levels in between. All of these trim levels can have packages added on that would increase the price. With this many options you are sure to find one to suit your needs.

If you’re in the market for a new small SUV, chances are you’ve come across both the 2021 Chevy Equinox and 2021 Ford Escape while researching your options. On the surface, these two contenders for your business offer many of the same features that make deciding a tedious task. In hopes of alleviating the stress of determining which is the best fit for you and your lifestyle, we’ll examine what makes each vehicle worth purchasing.
What makes the Equinox special?
In one corner, we’ve got the 2021 Chevy Equinox. Starting at $24,999, this small SUV gets exceptional mileage at 26/31 mpg city/highway, offers a surprisingly spacious interior, and plenty of available trims to provide you with the combination of functionality and financial commitment that’s just right for you.
Although Chevy won’t be doing a refresh of the model until 2022 due to COVID, the 2021 Equinox still provides a high-value package for buyers. One of the most appealing parts of said package is the interior, offering impressive space and style. Passengers can also enjoy a 7” touchscreen display featuring Chevy’s MyLink user-friendly infotainment system, as well as standard bluetooth connectivity and onboard Wi-Fi.
If you’re looking for a safe set of wheels, the Equinox has you covered in that department as well. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane keep assist are standard, and adaptive cruise control can be added for an extra level of high-tech protection. All of that helped the 2021 Chevy Equinox earn a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Worried about what’s under the hood? The optional 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine offers exceptional power while still keeping you from spending too much time and money at the pumps.
How about the Escape?
One of the top competitors of the Chevy Equinox, Ford’s popular small SUV has plenty to offer while starting around $26,000.
Similar to the Equinox, the 2021 Ford Escape didn’t undergo a facelift as manufacturing was hindered due to the current pandemic. The standard 1.5L three-cylinder engine provides less power, but is slightly more fuel efficient — estimates come in at 28mph in the city and 33mph on the highway.
While the Escape is similarly spacious, it boasts far more plastic than any driver should have to endure. On top of that, it doesn’t offer quite as much storage space as the Equinox. The standard trim only provides passengers with 4.2” radio display and an AM/FM radio, meaning that you’ll need to pony up for an 8” touchscreen display with Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system, which comes with the SE trim level and above.
The 2021 Ford Escape does come with outstanding safety features. Standard are the forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind-spot monitoring, all included in Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 safety suite. Those helped the 2021 Escape also earn the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s five-star rating.
The verdict?
With all of that said, the edge goes to 2021 Chevy Equinox. Boasting superior interior quality and space, a lower cost, more standard technology features and a beefier engine, the value lies in the latest iteration of Chevy’s small SUV. Especially with the mid-range LT trim — the perfect mix of upgrades without breaking the bank — you’re sure to get your money’s worth.
A Review of the 2020 Chevy Trax Crossover SUV
2020 Chevy Trax Buyers Guide: Best Colors, Trims, and Specs
If you are in the market for a compact SUV then you might want to take a look at the 2020 Chevy Trax. While it isn’t at the top of its class, it offers a number of luxurious features as well as things that make driving more convenient. It also comes in an array of fun colors that will catch the attention of other drivers. This smaller SUV is also budget-friendly which is a must, especially right now.
2020 Chevy Trax Specs
Exterior
Not much has changed with the Trax from 2019 to 2020. The biggest changes were with the available color options. There were three colors that were removed for the 2020 model but the options now include the following.
- Summit White
- Nightfall Gray Metallic
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Mosaic Black Metallic
- Cajun Red Tintcoat
- Pacific Blue Metallic
- Satin Steel Metallic
Along with a good range of color choices, the 2020 Chevy Trax features large windows that give a great view in almost every direction, limiting the blind spots that could be dangerous. That is something that is appreciated by SUV drivers everywhere.
Innovative Tech
As far as innovative tech goes, the new Trax features a fully loaded touch screen infotainment system that allows smartphones to connect directly to the system. This has become fairly standard in most new vehicle models.
Seating and Cargo Space
The 2020 Trax features two rows of seating, which is standard for a compact SUV. If minimal space is needed for seating, the seats can be adjusted to allow for more cargo space while still allowing for an additional passenger seat to be in use in the back row. If you need maximum cargo space for larger loads, the full back row can be laid down to allow for additional room.
Engine
While the standard engine of the 2020 Chevy Trax is not the strongest and takes over six seconds to reach 60 mph, the fuel efficiency makes up for it. This small SUV can get 29 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg in the city. That is a fuel economy SUV drivers can appreciate.
Price
All of these features come with a great price, making this compact SUV affordable. The LS base model features a starting price of $22,000, which is comparable to others of a similar size and quality in its class.
Chevy Trax Review
Overall the 2020 Chevy Trax is a good value for your money. There are some things that Chevy could improve for future models but the affordability makes this vehicle a good choice for those needing a small SUV. The seats do tend to be narrow and the comfort level could be higher. But it does offer great windows that afford the driver a great outward view to help with safety.
The ride can be rougher than some of the other compact SUVs in its class but the Trax redeems itself with the tech features that make driving easier, such as hands-free smartphone integration. The overall consumer reviews of this model are good. They like the value for the money and not many people had a problem with the acceleration.

2021 Chevy Silverados to Get New Special Editions
With a new year comes the new models of the Chevy Silverados. The 1500 and HD are great trucks that have pick-up drivers heading for the dealership each year to discover what is new for the lineup. One exciting new feature that Chevy has begun to reveal on the new 2021 lineup is their new special editions for the Silverado lineup.
While Chevy has already revealed the special editions that should be expected for the Silverado 1500, they have kept the HD special editions under wraps. But we can speculate about what might be featured based on what they have done in the past. First, let’s take a look at what you can expect from the new 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 special editions.
2021 Silverado 1500 Special Editions
Just recently Chevy announced the 2021 Silverado 1500 special editions that will be hitting the showroom floors this Fall. Drivers are excited about what the special edition 1500s have to offer and are chomping at the bit to get behind the wheel. Let’s take a closer look at what each edition has to offer.
2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Texas Edition Plus
The Silverado 1500 Texas Edition Plus is only available with two of the 1500 trim levels: the RST and the LT. This edition is really all about convenience and technology. It comes with the convenience package II which has a universal garage door opener, an automatic sliding back window, bed mounted power outlets, an infotainment system, a Bose sound system, 20-inch aluminum wheels with Argent metallic pockets, and the Texas Edition Plus badge. This edition also includes what comes standard on the RST and LT trim packages.
2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 All-Star Edition Plus
The Silverado 1500 All-Star Edition Plus is very similar to the Texas Edition Plus. One main difference is that it doesn’t come with the badge. There is a reason for this. The All-Star Edition Plus is made for dealers outside of the state of Texas.
2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium Texas Edition
The Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium Texas Edition is only available with the LTZ trim package, which comes with a number of great features. The convenience package II that comes with this edition includes an infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, and the Bose premium sound system. Also included with this edition is the safety package II which includes features like lane alert, front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking. This edition also has a sunroof and special edition badging.
2021 Silverado HD Possible Special Edition
Because Chevy has not released the 2021 Silverado HD Special Editions we can only speculate and hope for what is to come with the heavy duty lineup. However, we can look back at past special editions as a starting point.
Chevy Silverado HD Midnight Edition
The most recent special editions that Chevy released for the Silverado HD lineup was the Midnight Edition. The Silverado HD Midnight Edition had a monochromatic design with all black features. The all-black styling was bold and sleek, giving drivers a new kind of confidence behind the wheel. We wouldn’t be against seeing a similar design this year.
Chevy Silverado HD Alaska Edition
Another popular special edition was the Chevy Silverado HD Alaska Edition. This edition featured a variety of bold colors wrapped around one of the toughest heavy duty trucks out there. Drivers could attach a snowplow and make easy work of their snowy environments. While not every state deals with a lot of snow during the winter months, we are hoping that they release a truck this year with specific features for other states.
Chevy Silverado HD Custom Sport Edition
The other special edition truck that Chevy released in the past for the HD is the Custom Sport Edition. This sleek truck featured a Summit White or black exterior, chrome detailing, a body-colored bumper and grille, and 20-inch wheels. We loved the look of the sport edition and are hoping they do a plus version of this model with extra features but only time will tell.
