The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV combines Chevrolet’s admirable capabilities with efficiency in a way that’s never been seen before. This futuristic truck is designed for drivers who are looking for the rare combination of both rugged toughness and planet-friendly eco-consciousness in one package.
Mechanical Technology
This year’s Silverado EV is equipped with an Ultium Drive System, featuring Performance Torque Vectoring, an e4WD system, and a dual-motor configuration with motors positioned in the front and rear of the vehicle. With these features combined, the Ultium Drive System grants the Silverado EV superior traction, torque distribution, handling, and weight distribution, resulting in an unmatched overall performance. The standard Adaptive Ride Control program performs real-time adjustments with its Continuous Damping Control Suspension, further improving traction and control.
The Adaptive Air Ride Suspension is primarily responsible for the Silverado EV’s incredibly smooth ride, with a built-in suspension-adjustment system and the ability to change the ride height manually or automatically. With standard Active Rear Steering, the Silverado’s rear wheels will turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels at low speeds for even better maneuverability. This year’s Silverado EV includes Electronic Precision Shift with a One Pedal Driving Mode, boosting the battery’s charge through enhanced regenerative braking.
A Look in the 2024 Silverado EV’s Cabin
The electric truck has vinyl seating for five people, with a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The driver’s, front passenger’s, and rear outboard seats feature heating capabilities, as does the steering wheel. The floors in both the front and rear of the EV are covered with carpeted mats. The onboard dual-zone automatic climate control system allows for a temperature difference of up to 30 degrees between the driver and front passenger.
The Latest and Greatest of Cabin Technology
The cabin’s rear mirror doubles as a camera, allowing you a wider, clearer view of the space behind your Silverado. You can zoom the camera in and out, adjust the vertical tilt, and dim the brightness for an unobstructed view day or night. The standard Driver Attention Assist program prevents drowsiness at the wheel by alerting you when the system detects patterns of fatigue or distraction in your driving.
One of the standard features we’re most excited about this year is the 14-inch multicolor Head-Up Display screen included in every 2024 Silverado EV. This advanced program projects images of road and vehicle information onto the lower portion of your front windshield, and you can even customize what information appears. The Silverado EV’s extra-large infotainment screen measures 17.7 inches and boasts built-in Google, the latest voice recognition software, and navigation capabilities.
