Orr Chevrolet of Fort Smith

Dec 18, 2020

The 2021 Chevy Colorado is great for when you don’t want the bulkiness and expense of a larger pickup, but still want powerful hauling and towing capacity. Featuring a practical interior and your choice of three hard-working engines, the Colorado is sure to meet your workday needs. Perhaps this is why it was a 2020 Kelly Blue Book Best Buy. This year features a few new appearance options and some cosmetic changes.

Power

Of course, the number one reason to get a Colorado is power. With three engines to choose from, you’ve got plenty of high powered options. The smallest is the 2.5 Liter four-cylinder, which gets you 200 horsepower and 191-foot pounds of torque. It features a 3,500 pounds towing capacity and consumes 19 miles per gallon of gas in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. A little higher up the ladder is the 3.6 L V6, which generates 308 horsepower and 275-foot pounds of torque. It gets 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

At the top of the ladder is the Duramax 2.8 L Turbo Diesel. Towing a massive 7,700 pounds, getting you 181 horsepower and 369 foot-pounds of torque. It is fairly efficient as well, consuming 19 miles per gallon of gas in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

Customizability

With four different trim levels and many available options, you can have your Colorado anyway you want it. The base model features the most basic engine and comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, although it can be upgraded to eight-speed. It features electronic traction control, and anti-lock disc brakes. Rear-wheel drive and power-assisted steering are standard. The Z71 features the 3.6L V6, and an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The higher-end option is the ZR2, which features the same engine as the Z71 but also has the option for the more powerful diesel engine. It features a 2-speed transfer case and gives you the option for a four-wheel drive. Some of the options on the other models are standard on the ZR2, like the trailering package and the off-road rocker protection.

Tech Capabilities

For its class, the Colorado features some of the best tech features out there. The base model comes with a seven-inch touch screen, while every other model features an eight-inch touchscreen for accessing apps, media, and more.

The MyChevrolet app sets a new standard for remote access to your vehicle, featuring remote lock, unlock, stop and start. You can also locate your truck, and check vital stats like tire pressure, fuel range, and oil life. You can access the owner’s manual right from the app, so no searching through your glove box when you have an issue. You can also schedule services, and set the options on the wifi hotspot. There are even how-to videos and trailer load calculators.

Come see all this in person at Orr Chevrolet, featuring a wide range of new and used vehicles, a service center, and a parts store.
