If your AC isn’t working correctly, your Chevy dealer is here to help. Our Chevy-trained technicians can speedily fix any issue, and cold air will billow from your AC again in no time. These are some signs you need us for AC maintenance.

No Airflow
If no air blows through the vents and the AC is running, you could have a blocked air intake or a blockage in the vents. The air intake is located just below your windshield, and the air is drawn in through it, then chilled and blown into the cabin. This vent can become blocked by dirt, leaves, or other debris, preventing air from reaching the AC.
The air that enters the AC can contain dirt, leaves, and other substances. This debris can block the ducts, preventing air from blowing into the cabin. If this has happened, you’ll usually hear rattling or rusting when the AC is running as the debris moves around. We’ll quickly remove any debris from the intake vent and clear any duct blockage, and airflow into your cabin will return to normal.
The Compressor Isn’t Working
The compressor is the most important part of your AC system, as it controls the movement of air and refrigerant through the AC. It can fail due to age or be damaged by stones or other hard objects thrown up from the ground. Without a working compressor, your AC system can’t operate.
Fortunately, a damaged compressor clutch is one of the most common reasons for a failed AC. The clutch switches the compressor on and off as air and refrigerant move through the system. A worn compressor clutch can jam closed, and your AC system won’t work. If clutch failure is the cause of the problem, our technicians can install a new clutch, and the compressor will work again.
Leaking Refrigerant
Refrigerant is the gas that chills the air before it’s blown into your cabin. It’s odorless and colorless and evaporates in contact with the outside air. The refrigerant is pushed through the AC system under pressure that reaches 200 PSI. Time and pressure can weaken the seals or other vulnerable parts of the AC system, and refrigerant can escape.
If your AC air doesn’t get as cold as it previously did, you could have a refrigerant leak. We check for leaks in the AC by adding a UV dye to the system and then monitoring the refrigerant’s passage through the AC using a UV viewer. We’ll fix the leak as soon as we locate the source, then refill your refrigerant.
