4. Walk Through the Massard Prairie Battlefield Park

The Massard Prairie Battlefield Park at 4999 Morgans Way in Fort Smith is listed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places and honors both the brave Confederate troops and Union soldiers who clashed here on July 27th, 1864, during the Civil War. The interpretative trail runs through the preserved camp areas, including Companies B and D campsites, the parade ground, and the camp kitchen.
