With a smaller size that provides excellent fuel efficiency and turbocharged performance, the 2025 Chevy Equinox is a reliable crossover SUV.
Strong Performance and Versatility
Providing turbocharged performance, this edition’s engine is a sporty 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that generates 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Because of its smaller size, this engine also delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, getting up to 29 MPG on highways and up to 24 MPG on city streets. While front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, all-wheel drive (AWD) is available for this edition.
When opting for FWD, the vehicle comes with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), whereas AWD-equipped models have an eight-speed automatic transmission. Plenty of other versatility-enhancing features are offered as well, like the Drive Mode Selector feature, which comes standard with select trims. This system lets you switch between different drive settings, and modes offered include Normal, Snow/Ice, Off-Road, and AWD, depending on the powertrain and trim level.
Comfy Seats and a Convenient Design
Inside, heated front seats come standard, and upper trims come with standard power lumbar control while offering available heated rear seats and an optional ventilation function for the front seats. Also, durable Black cloth, easy-to-clean Black Evotex with Red Accents, and plush Maple Sugar sueded microfiber are just some of the seating material highlights offered among the various trim levels.
Also offering a convenient design, deep-tinted rear glass and solar glazing glass both come standard with this SUV to help keep the cabin cool. The power-adjustable mirrors found on all models are complemented by a heated wiper park in many upper trims, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof is available for select trims, and the manual liftgate that comes with the base LT trim is replaced by the Autosense Power Liftgate in other trims.
Innovative Tech and Safety Features
Attached to the dash is an 11.3″ diagonal advanced color LCD display, which has Google built-In services, natural voice recognition, navigation capability, a hands-free calling function, connected apps, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity for smartphones. There’s also the standard 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center behind the wheel.
The vehicle’s driver-assist suite is also high-tech and comes standard with Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, IntelliBeam Auto High Beam Headlamps, and the Following Distance Indicator . Side collisions can be prevented with the Blind Zone Steering Assist, Side Bicyclist Alert, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, while the HD Rear Vision Camera and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking are all included as well.
