Automatic Emergency Braking
Automatic Emergency Braking is part of the Chevy Safety Assist assistive driving package. This feature can reduce the severity of an accident by automatically providing hard breaking when an impending collision is detected. Automatic Emergency Braking only works at speeds between 5 to 50 mph.
Hill Start Assist
Hill Start Assist prevents your Suburban from rolling backward when parking on a steep incline. This works by keeping your brakes engaged for a split second as you transition from the brake pedal to the gas pedal. It immediately releases once you apply pressure to the accelerator.
StabiliTrak
StabiliTrak electronic stability control keeps your Suburban upright when you make a sudden emergency maneuver. StabiliTrak automatically adjusts the engine torque and brakes to keep your vehicle on its intended path. It also reduces engine power when slippage is detected on wet or icy roads.
Following Distance Indicator
Following Distance Indicator is another assistive driving function featured in the Chevy Safety Assist package. This feature monitors the distance between your Suburban and the vehicle in front of you, displaying the time in seconds before your two vehicles collide.
Buckle to Drive
Buckle to Drive ensures you’re safely buckled in before driving the Suburban. This function blocks you from shifting the vehicle out of PARK until all front occupants have their seatbelts fastened.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning gently turns the steering wheel when it detects your Suburban unintentionally drifting out of its designated lane. This function does not activate when you’re using a turn signal. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning is included in the Chevy Safety Assist package.
Teen Driver
If you’re worried about your teen staying safe behind the wheel, you’ll appreciate the Teen Driver feature in the new Suburban. Teen Driver provides an in-cabin report card that details your child’s progress on the road, alerting you to dangerous practices.
Front and Rear Park Assist
Front and Rear Park Assist uses radar sensors and cameras to monitor the area surrounding your Suburban while parking. It alerts you when vehicles, objects, or pedestrians are detected in your path, allowing you to hit the brakes before an accident occurs.
Forward Collision Alert
Forward Collision Alert is a vital function in the Chevy Safety Assist package. This feature surveils the path in front of your Suburban and alerts you when it detects an impending collision with another vehicle.
