Plus they offer rental clubs in case you don’t have your own. Locals love Ben Geren because of the breathtaking greens and friendly staff.

2. Hardscrabble Country Club

This course dates back to 1926 and is named after the Hardscrabble farm that used to occupy the land. It was designed by the famous architect, Perry Maxwell. Hardscrabble is a private course consisting of 18-holes that stretches an impressive 6,619 yards. Bermuda grass covers the sloping landscape of this world-class fairway.

Many famous men and women have played at Hardscrabble over the years. It is well-known for being the official site of the LPGA Tour in 1948. Women who attended this tournament went on to be some of the best female players of the time. As the host of more than a dozen PGA Tour events, Hardscrabble is a renowned course throughout Arkansas.

3. Deer Trails Course

Deer Trails is a municipal fairway that is open every day of the week during the season. It is set on Bermuda grass near Chaffee Crossing in Fort Smith. It is a nine-hole regulation course that spans 3,063 yards. This par 36 course is great for beginner and intermediate players.

Stop by for a friendly game at a reasonable price, and relax in the peaceful scenery of this remote fairway. This smaller course is great for a short trip. Plus the clubhouse has a friendly staff and serves excellent food.

4. Chip’s Driving Range

Chip’s driving range is a great place to practice your swing before heading to the fairway. Chip’s offers 26 practice tees. It is the perfect setting for players of all skill levels to take a lesson or work on their stroke mechanics. Child and adult lessons are offered, and special pricing is available when you buy multiple lessons.

Ball machines are open from 8 am until dark, and it only costs $5 for 50 balls. They will also host your private party or event upon reservation. A great way to spend an afternoon and enjoy the weather is to get out and practice your game on the well-kept range at Chip’s.
