Chevy Bolt

2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV: GM’s First All-Electric SUV

The highly anticipated 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV will be unveiled next month in February 2021—the first all-electric General Motors SUV. more The Chevrolet Bolt has been a revelation for GM in the growing EV industry—even being recognized as the 2017 MotorTrend Car of the Year. While the compact hatchback is an ideal commuter for individuals and couples, it doesn’t quite possess the interior room and cargo volume that small families with children demand. Luckily, the vehicle is poised to grow in size for the 2022 model year in the form of an all-new Bolt “Electric Utility Vehicle” (EUV). While the hatchback model will carry over for 2022, the Bolt EUV will be nearly six inches longer with a three-inch longer wheelbase in comparison, according to MotorTrend. That will certainly equate to more room for second-row passengers and expanded cargo capabilities. SUVs certainly are in greater demand than hatchbacks, so the interest in the Bolt EUV is expected to be paramount—as there are very few all-electric SUVs currently on the market. Propulsion and Battery Range Though significantly larger than its hatchback predecessor, the new Bolt EUV will ride on the same BEV2 architecture and is expected to utilize a similar version of its battery electric powertrain. A 66 kWh lithium ion battery pack and electric motor rated at 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque powers the regular 2021 Bolt—which features a maximum EPA-rated range of 259 miles. Interestingly, a teaser photo released by GM showed the Bolt EUV’s digital cluster with 235 miles of range left with 80 percent battery charge remaining. That would equate to approximately a 280-mile range on a full charge. Interior, Technology, and Safety The most exciting new technology featured in the Bolt EUV is GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance system. The Bolt EUV will be the first Chevrolet vehicle to debut this technology—which first appeared on the Cadillac CT6 in 2017. The steering wheel will feature a light bar that illuminates different colors to indicate the status of Super Cruise to the driver. The colors green, red and blue are used to indicate when Super Cruise is available (green), when the driver is not paying attention (red) and when the driver takes over the wheel while Super Cruise is engaged (blue). The rest of the interior will likely mimic the nicer materials, more comfortable seats and the updated infotainment system found on the updated 2021 Chevrolet Bolt. The 2021 Bolt’s tablet-sized display screen features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity. The 2021 Bolt’s standard and available safety features are also expected to carry over, which include Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, Rear Camera Mirror and HD Surround Vision. 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Pricing and Availability The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV will go into production in summer 2021.  Pricing has yet to be announced, but GM Authority expects it will start in the mid-$30,000 range.

5 Things Every Driver Needs in a Car Tool Kit

Every house has tools that you can't live without: hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers come to mind. Why wouldn't a car have basic tools too? You might want to safeguard yourself from troubles on the road, or simply want to run maintenance on your car yourself. Having a car tool kit filled with essentials can be very helpful. more 1. Socket Wrenches A good socket wrench will certainly come in handy. Make sure you get the right set of wrenches for your vehicle and also make sure you have the correct socket size for your tires. This makes removing lug nuts and changing a flat tire a snap, and it's a must-have tool. 2. Duct Tape Let's be honest for a second: is there anything a good roll of duct tape can't do? From providing an impromptu patch job to holding an object in place long enough for proper repairs, it's something every driver should keep in their arsenal. 3. Work Light While a flashlight or phone might be able to illuminate a small area at night, chances are you might need both hands for certain types of repairs. A high-quality work light can allow you to work hands-free in a well-lit area, speeding up the repair process and turning night into day. If you get one that is battery powered, then make sure to always check the batteries, and have a few replacement ones on hand. 4. Lubricant This is a must-have, especially if you are repairing an older car. Sometimes parts get rusted, dry, or just plain stuck, and a few drops of lubricant will allow you to get things moving again. Make sure to always have at least two full bottles on hand, and partner them with a rag to catch any spills. Additionally, there are several different types of lubricants, so make sure to use the one that will provide you with the most benefit. 5. The Manual Remember the manual? The large paperback booklet that came with your car and probably is sitting in the glovebox? The book that wasn't read? Well, it's often the most valuable piece of a tool kit. Since it was made specifically for your vehicle, it contains a lot of useful information that will help you make repairs. If you want to find the exact model of your vehicle or an exact specification number, it's all there in the manual! A good tool kit can last you quite a long time. You might not use it as much as an emergency tool kit, but it can help you repair your car in a pinch. So always make sure to keep it well stocked and up to date, and it will be there when you need it the most. If you want to find great starter tool kits, then be sure to visit or call Orr Chevrolet of Fort Smith to get started.

CT4-V

2021 Cadillac CT4-V Features Next Generation Technology

The CT4 made its inaugural debut for the 2020 model year—filling the void left by the outgoing ATS as Cadillac’s new compact executive sport sedan. Now only in its second model year, Cadillac is already adding more safety features, next-generation technology and enhanced exterior design elements to the 2021 Cadillac CT4 that will undoubtedly make it even more appealing to buyers. Cadillac Ventures Into Uncharted Territory The ATS was a revelation when it debuted in 2013, marking Cadillac’s first ever foray into the compact sport sedan world. This was a class traditionally ruled by the German triumvirate—BMW, Audi and Mercedes. No American manufacturer had seriously made an attempt to enter this prestigious and competitive segment, perhaps in fear of being embarrassed when Car and Driver or Motor Trend pitted the sedans against one another in comparison tests. The ATS was built on GM’s groundbreaking Alpha chassis. Featuring high strength steel and aluminum construction, the Alpha chassis was developed to be compact, lightweight and feature a near 50/50 weight distribution. It was the ideal platform for a sport sedan. Consequently, the ATS handled so brilliantly that GM decided to use its underpinnings on the sixth generation Camaro when it later debuted in 2016. When the range-topping ATS-V was unveiled the same year, not only had Cadillac secured its seat at the sport sedan table—they were positioned clearly at the head. The new CT4 inherently takes all of the design elements that made the ATS such a success and aims to push the boundaries of performance, handling and technology to even greater heights. CT4 Unveiled as Cadillac’s Next Generation Sport Sedan The CT4 is built on a revamped Alpha II chassis—further enhanced to feature world class driving dynamics with its lightweight and high strength architecture. Following Cadillac’s new “Y” trim strategy, the CT4 is available in Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trims—each available in RWD or AWD configuration. All three trims come standard with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that delivers 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. While that’s certainly satisfactory in a sedan this agile and light, a larger 2.7L force-fed four-cylinder is available on the Premium Luxury model that yields 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The CT4 Premium Luxury Trim will also see a new Diamond Sky special edition package for the 2021 model year featuring exclusive exterior and interior components. With Diamond Sky Metallic exterior paint, Brembo V Performance front brake calipers and Sky Cool Gray/Jet Black leather seats featuring exclusive Diamond Fall inserts—this special edition CT4 is sure to turn heads. V-Badge Unleashes CT4’s Performance Potential For those looking for the highest-level of performance the Cadillac CT4 currently has to offer, the V-Series is your answer. Featuring a more aggressively tuned version of the Premium Luxury’s available 2.7L mill, the CT4-V delivers 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. High-performance Brembo front brakes deliver unmatched stopping power, while Magnetic Ride Control takes the CT4’s handling to new limits in RWD configuration. When put to the test, Car and Driver recorded a 4.5 second zero to 60 mph time and 13.2 second at 102 mph quarter-mile pass in the CT4-V. It’s the most potent GM four-cylinder powered vehicle to date—easily capable of making you forget how many cylinders are under the hood at the touch of the throttle. CT4-V Features Next Generation Technology Though its performance garners most of the attention, the CT4-V is also a technological marvel packed with a laundry list of next generation features. A new available high-definition 12-inch digital instrument cluster, Enhanced Super Cruise with Lane Change on Demand, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be added for 2021 models. Super Cruise provides hands-free driver assistance on compatible highways in the U.S. and Canada, which is sure to make highway commutes far less stressful. Cadillac’s new Buckle to Drive will also be added to the CT4’s standard safety suite in 2021, which prevents the shifter from leaving park for up to 20 seconds or until the driver’s seatbelt is buckled—whichever comes first. 2021 Cadillac CT4 Pricing and Release Date The 2021 Cadillac starts at $34,390 in Luxury trim, $38,590 in Premium Luxury trim and $39,690 in Sport trim. The high-performance 2021 Cadillac CT4-V starts at $45,890. 2021 CT4 models featuring Enhanced Super Cruise with Lane Change on Demand will be available in early 2021.

Taliano's Italian Restaurant Sometimes, nothing satisfies an appetite like authentic Italian comfort food, and Taliano's Italian Restaurant offers just that. All pasta sauces are made in-house and complement dishes like spaghetti, linguine, ravioli, and fettuccini perfectly. You will get a large portion of food, so you might want to split an entree with a family member or just have leftovers later. Of course, it's so delicious, you might not be able to stop yourself from eating the entire thing in a single sitting! Tacolicious While this is not exactly a restaurant, this food truck offers tasty street tacos for takeout that rival any that are served in actual restaurants. In fact, many locals prefer the Mexican dishes from Tacolicious over any they can get elsewhere. The tacos asada are the most popular tacos on the menu, but other entrees like tortas, burritos, and quesadillas are all excellent meal options. Don't forget to try the guacamole and salsa as they go great with any dish! You don't have to cook every night if you don't want to. Try one of these five restaurants that offer delivery or takeout and you'll not only get a night off of kitchen duty, but you'll also get a wonderfully tasty meal as well! Of course, these are not the only eateries in Fort Smith that provide delivery and takeout services, so if they don't seem to have what you're craving, that's okay. Drop by Orr Chevrolet and we'll direct you to another awesome restaurant that will make your taste buds smile.
